Raising the barre

Dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov receives the Royal Academy of Dance’s most prestigious award in recognition of his contribution to ballet and the wider world of dance. He was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Award by the Queen Consort as Dame Darcey Bussell, the RAD’S president, looked on. “Mikhail Baryshnikov is one of the most famous male ballet dancers in history,” said Dame Darcey. “He has been an inspiration to so many young, aspiring dancers across the world.”
