Cornflour power

sir – Supermarkets must address the cornflour shortage (Features, November 17).

Our nine-year-old grandson cannot eat gluten but loves Yorkshire puddings – and is able to make amazing ones using cornflour. Margaret Barnett

sir – I mourn the disappearance of cornflour, not from my food but from my laundry. Dipping napkins in a few spoonfuls of cornflour dissolved in water makes for delightfully crisp, starched table linen. You can even put the liquid into a spray bottle and spray it directly on to your ironing.
