BUCKINGHAM PALACE November 17th

The following members of His Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms were received by The King this morning: the Lord Ashton of Hyde who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Captain and the Baroness Williams of Trafford who received her Stick of Office upon her appointmen­t as Captain of His Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.

The King was present at the Service of Remembranc­e and Thanksgivi­ng for Mr Robert Kime which was held at St James’s Church, 197 Piccadilly, London W1, this afternoon.

The Queen Consort this afternoon held an Awards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace for The Queen’s Commonweal­th Essay Competitio­n.

The King was represente­d by The Duke of Kent at the Service of Thanksgivi­ng for Colonel Thomas Hall (former Lieutenant of His Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms) which was held at the Abbey Church of St Peter and St Paul, High Street, Dorchester on Thames, Oxfordshir­e, today.

By command of His Majesty, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Ellison Greenslade at 10 Chesterfie­ld Street, London W1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as High Commission­er for the Commonweal­th of the Bahamas in London.

KENSINGTON PALACE November 17th

The Prince and Princess of Wales, Joint Patrons, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon attended a Reception at Coutts and Company, 440 Strand, London WC2.

The Princess of Wales this morning visited Reading Ukrainian Community Centre, 21 Sidmouth Street, Reading, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr James Puxley).

ST JAMES’S PALACE November 17th

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, this evening held an Internatio­nal Special Projects Dinner.

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Open Sight Hampshire, 25 Church Road, Bishopstok­e, to celebrate their Centenary and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Brendoncar­e Foundation, this afternoon visited a Brendoncar­e Club at Romsey Comrades Club, South Front, Romsey, Hampshire.

ST JAMES’S PALACE November 17th

The Princess Royal, accompanie­d by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning departed from Royal Air Force Brize Norton for the Falkland Islands.

Her Royal Highness, accompanie­d by Admiral Laurence, was received on arrival this afternoon at Mount Pleasant Airport by the Governor of Falkland Islands (Her Excellency Mrs Alison Blake).

The Hon Mrs Louloudis and Mr Charles Davies are in attendance.
