Pawn Sacrifice (2014)

It’s Rocky IV on a chequered board as the USA’S Bobby Fischer takes on the Soviet Union grandmaster Boris Spassky for Cold War bragging rights. Tobey Maguire is just manic enough to portray the crumbling, delusional Fischer, while Liev Schriber doesn’t overdo it as Spassky, as the men square off around the board, while Kissinger and Brezhnev hover in the background.
