The Swimmers (2022) Netflix ★★★★

Yusra and Sara Mardini (played here by sisters Nathalie and Manal Issa) were professional swimmers who fled Syria for Europe. Yusra would go on to compete in two Olympic Games, but first the girls had to escape their homeland, taking a perilous sea voyage along the way. Their journey is intense and moving, their sporting story every bit as rousing as Rocky. Directed by Sally El Hosaini.
