‘William wanted me to hit back… I didn’t’

- By Daily Telegraph Reporters

THE Duke of Sussex has said that he saw a “red mist” in the Prince of Wales when he was knocked to the floor by his brother.

In a newly released clip from ITV’S forthcoming interview with Prince Harry, the Duke said that the level of frustration he saw in his brother during the alleged incident was “different”.

“He wanted me to hit him back, but I chose not to,” he says of William, who he has claimed in his book had physically attacked him.

The Duke tells Tom Bradby in the interview: “What was different here was the level of frustration, and I talk about the red mist that I had for so many years, and I saw this red mist in him.” It emerged yesterday that the Prince has said he was manhandled by his brother during a “piping hot” row over his marriage to the Duchess of Sussex.

Prince William called Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive” in a confrontation with his brother, which turned violent, the Duke claimed.

In the row, the Duke said he told William he was parroting “the press narrative” around his American wife and alleged his older brother then “grabbed me by the collar” and “knocked me to the floor”. It is alleged the clash took place in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage, where Harry and his wife lived in the grounds of Kensington Palace.

In the interview clip, the Duke also says he thought it was important to acknowledge his drug use and repeats his claim that wants to reconcile with his family.

Bradby says: “There’s a fair amount of drugs [in the book]. Marijuana, magic mushrooms, cocaine. I mean, that’s going to surprise people.”

The Duke appears to agree and says it was “important to acknowledge”.

The 38-year-old also states that he wants to reconcile with his family – something which he says cannot happen without “some accountability”.

“I want reconciliation,” the Prince says, “but, first, there needs to be some accountability”. Harry: The Interview will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITX at 9pm tomorrow.
