Reduced to rubble

A family home in Greater Manchester was destroyed when a car crashed into it on Thursday.

The vehicle collided with the building at around 6.45pm, causing part of it to collapse. Pictures of the aftermath of the incident in Ashton-under-lyne, near Oldham, show the car buried in rubble. The driver freed herself before emergency services arrived and was treated at the scene. No other casualties were reported. A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and taken into custody.
