Murder charge after body found in pond

A man has been charged with murder after human remains were found in a pond on New Year’s Eve.

Yesterday, Essex Police said Lee Clark, 52, of Wedhey, Harlow, had been charged with killing Phillip Lewis, 59, whose body was found in Oakwood Pond, Harlow.

A second man, 23, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and released on bail until March, while police inquiries continue. He and Mr Clark were arrested on Jan 4.

Mr Clark will appear at Colchester magistrates’ court today.
