BBC’S Happy Valley beats Bradby interview in ratings battle
MORE viewers watched BBC’S Happy Valley than tuned into the interview with the Duke of Sussex on ITV, according to overnight figures.
Harry: The Interview drew an average TV audience of 4.1 million – ITV’S highest rating for a factual programme for more than a year.
However, the second episode of series three of Happy Valley, which started at the same time – 9pm on Sunday – had an average audience of 5.3 million TV viewers.
The crime drama, which stars Sarah Lancashire, returned on New Year’s Day for its final series after a six-year break. The Duke of Sussex was interviewed by Tom Bradby as part of the promotion for his memoir, Spare, which is released today. In 2021 Oprah with Meghan and Harry had an average audience of 11.1million and a peak audience of 12.4million viewers when the CBS special aired on ITV.
