Vase bought for a tenner to sell for up to £80,000
A vase that was bought for £10 is now tipped to sell for up to £80,000 as it was made by colourful artist Sir Grayson Perry, 62, long before he found fame.
The 17ins all earthenware vase was produced in the early Nineties when the Turner Prize-winning artist was a struggling potter.
At the time Perry often sold his pieces for £10 each at car boot sales near his home in Eastbourne, East Sussex. The vase on sale at Eastbourne Auctions today was a protest piece made by Perry who was objecting to the building of the M11 link-road motorway in north east London.
The vase has a pre-sale estimate of £40,000 to £80,000.
