Body of woman found in ‘swamp-like’ home

A woman found dead in a flat where she allegedly lived in swamp-like conditions may have lain there for months.

Her body was discovered after a council emergency housing officer forced entry to the flat on an estate in Southwark, south London.

Both the woman, who has not yet been identified, and her downstairs neighbour had complained about leaks in the 10 months prior to her death.

Her neighbour, Jeffrey Boachiefrimpong, 35, who lived with his family below, said he and his wife had first raised the issue on March 6 last year. Police said that her death was not suspicious.
