Pensioner hit by bus in critical condition

A woman in her nineties has suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a bus.

The pensioner is being treated in hospital. She was on foot when she was injured at about 11:15am on Saturday, on St Stephens Street in Norwich.

Norfolk Police said the woman had been taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment. She remains in a critical condition.

Police said the driver of the bus was not injured in the incident and they have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

St Stephens Street was reopened at about 2pm on the same day.
