Waiting in the wings

Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, said on the BBC’S Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg show that he had succeeded in making his party “capable of going into power”. He also said that he tells “the shadow cabinet – every time we meet – to fight like we are 5 per cent behind in the polls … [because] every vote has to be earned”.
