Carrick is twice reported to the police following a row with a girlfriend in which he is accused of malicious communicat­ion and burglary

2002

He is accused of actual bodily harm after attacking a girlfriend who wanted to end their relationsh­ip. She reported the matter to his bosses in the Met but no action was taken against him

2004

He is accused of domestic abuse following another argument with a girlfriend but it is not clear if the Met was ever made aware of the incident

2009

Carrick should undergo his ten-year vetting process in the Met but it does not take place for another six years

2016

Reported to Hampshire Police following an allegation he was stalking a woman by ‘ghost calling’ her at work. The matter was investigat­ed but was dropped because he was not linked to the phone in question

2017

Thames Valley Police speak to Carrick after he is thrown out of a nightclub in Reading for being drunk and aggressive. He showed the officers his Met warrant card and rather than being arrested was allowed to go on his way

2019

He is again reported to Hertfordsh­ire Police over allegation­s of assault and criminal damage following a row with a girlfriend who he grabs round the neck and drags out of a house. The matter was examined internally but he was simply offered some words of advice

2021

Carrick is arrested on suspicion of rape after a woman contacts Sussex Police. He is not suspended but instead placed on restricted duties. When the victim withdraws the complaint the Met rules he “has no case to answer”
