Aldi cheese

-

sir – William Sitwell’s claim that “there is not a sniff of a decent cheese” in Aldi (Features, January 13) is simply wrong.

The tangy and tasty Inglewhite goat, the French brie, which is so ripe it slides gently on to one’s plate when opened, and the cave-aged Roquefort, with its maritime saltiness and bite, all give the lie to his remark. To cap it all is the extra-mature cheddar, which attacks the tongue and provides the perfect finish to a meal.

I would happily take him on a visit to my local Aldi to put him straight.
