Radio 2 exodus

SIR – I read with sadness about the departure of Ken Bruce from BBC Radio 2 (report, January 18). He is the latest in a long line of fellow presenters to leave – Graham Norton, Simon Mayo and Vanessa Feltz, to name just a few.

The station appears to be making itself into Radio 1 “lite” and playing music for an audience it doesn’t have, thereby alienating the small audience it does have. It’s no wonder stations like Boom and Serenade are thriving, with their mix of great music.
