Twitter revenues have fallen 40pc, manager tells staff
Daily revenues at Twitter have fallen by 40pc, a senior manager has reportedly told staff, blaming the takeover by Elon Musk.
The decline in sales comes as 500 advertisers have deserted the platform since the Tesla chief executive’s $44bn (£36bn) acquisition of the company, the Information reported. Siddharth Rao, an engineering manager working on Twitter’s advertising business, is said to have revealed the information in a staff meeting on Tuesday.
Mr Musk has made it clear he plans to diversify Twitter’s revenue away from advertising in the long run.
Such a reduction in revenues will make it harder for the company to be “roughly cash flow break-even” as Mr Musk predicted last month.
