The recently released Good for a Girl: My Life Running in a Man’s World.

Written by former United States athlete Lauren Fleshman, it has been described as part-memoir and part-manifesto. As well as charting her career in elite sport – she competed in middle and long-distance events at the World Championsh­ips – she also highlights the challenges girls and women face progressin­g through sports systems designed for men.

Alysia Montano, who competed in the Olympics 800 metres for the US, said: “This book breaks open the door for caged conversati­ons to protect the health and integrity of growing athletes.”

The CBS Arena in Coventry hosts England v Italy (3.15pm) and South Korea v Belgium (6.15pm) the following Sunday, before South Korea v Italy (4.45pm) and England v Belgium (7.45pm) are staged at Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium on Wednesday, Feb 22.
