Families snap up heaters at Dunelm to cut energy costs

-

Households are buying more indoor heaters this winter as they switch off radiators in an attempt to tackle soaring energy costs.

Homeware retailer Dunelm said sales jumped by almost a fifth in the three months to the end of December, boosted by customers stocking up on throws, duvets and indoor heaters in an effort to cut their energy bills.

Dunelm’s stronger demand for products to keep homes warmer sent its total sales to £478m. It said it was on course to post full-year profits ahead of market expectations.

Analysts are expecting Dunelm to record £172m in pre-tax profits this year through to the end of June, compared to £209m last year, amid pressure on retailers as cost of living fears mount.
