Rugby players revolt over tackle height law

The Rugby Football Union was last night facing its biggest player revolt since the dawn of profession­alism as England internatio­nals joined others in voicing their disdain at plans to reduce the tackle height in the community game. Players will only be allowed to tackle from the waist down from July in an effort to improve safety. But Ben Stokes, the England cricket Test captain, was among a sea of social media critics calling for the RFU to reconsider the proposals.
