Police hunt driver after six hurt in hit-and-run
Six people were hurt in a hit and run car crash in north London on Sunday.
The victims were walking on Green Lanes in Haringey at about 7.15pm when a car drove into other vehicles, hit a pole and clipped passersby.
The vehicle stopped briefly but then sped off, as witnesses shouted and kicked the car.
“Thankfully, none of the pedestrians suffered life-threatening injuries,” said police. Footage shared by witnesses suggested it was a black SUV.
The scene, close to the Salisbury Road junction, was cordoned off.
Peray Ahmet, the Haringey council leader, said she was “disgusted” by the motorist’s actions.
