Teenager punished for having knife killed boy

-

A teenager has been found guilty of stabbing an Afghan refugee to death hours after he received a youth rehabilitation order for possessing a “Rambo” knife.

The 17-year-old attacked Hazrat Wali, 18, on playing fields in Twickenham, south-west London, in front of horrified children. The promising cricketer, from Notting Hill, west London, died of massive blood loss an hour later on Oct 12 2021.

Yesterday at the Old Bailey, the defendant, who cannot be named because of his age, was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter. He will be sentenced on March 10.
