PRINCESS EUGENIE and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have announced they are expecting their second child this summer.

The Duke of York’s youngest daughter shared the news by releasing a family photograph of her with her son, August, taken by Mr Brooksbank.

She wrote: “We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer.”

Buckingham Palace said the Royal family was “delighted” and that August was “very much” looking forward to becoming a big brother.

The baby will be born 13th in line to the throne and will be styled miss or master.

The child will be the first of the Queen’s great-grandchildren to be born since her death and will arrive in the King’s coronation year.

The announcement came after the Princess revealed her son will be “an activist from two years old” in an interview she gave during the World Economic Forum in Davos last week.

Her son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, was born at Portland Hospital, in central London, on Feb 9 2021.

Speaking to Axel Threlfall, Reuters editor-at-large, and Gail Whiteman, the Arctic Humanity founder, she said that becoming a mother had made her more concerned about climate change and that she does “everything” for August.

The Princess added: “Every decision we now make has to be for August, what he’s going to be able to look at and do and how he’s going to live his life.

“But I think also as a mother, you all of a sudden, totally change everything changes. “Now I’m scared of flying and things like that and I would never be before.”

She added that she tries ban plastic in the house, but it can be a “battle” to teach August “about these things”.
