Farmer killed brother as he saved him from cow
A farmer who tried to protect his brother from an aggressive cow accidentally killed him, an inquest has heard.
Dewi Owen Jones, 68, suffered major abdominal injuries when he was pinned against a wall by a JCB digger driven by his older brother John at their farm near Ruthin, Wales.
In a statement, John Jones described how a Limousin-cross cow which had given birth that morning had become aggressive towards his brother. He tried to help by putting a Bobcat digger between the animal and his brother, but the corner of the machine pinned him against the wall. The jury returned a conclusion of misadventure.
