Golfer cuts up rough over potholes in his road

-

A resident is so fed up with the number of potholes on his road that he has used them as a golf course in an effort to highlight the issue.

Stephen Aylen, 66, an ex-councillor, took photos of what he said were “121 road defects and potholes” on the road in Woodside, Leigh-on-sea, Essex.

He said: “It was a nice morning for a spot of golf, and why travel to a course when I have so many holes right outside my house.”

Southend City Council disputed that Mr Aylen’s photos showed potholes, saying they were instead “road defects” which are more cosmetic and would be fixed as part of usual road maintenance.
