Peter Fagg, chief engineer, at work on the Corliss and Wheelock steam engine at the British Engineeriu­m in Hove, East Sussex. It is going up for auction in the Connoisseu­r’s Library sale at Bonhams in February. The fully working horizontal engine weighs approximat­ely 16 tons and was built in Lille, France, in 1889.
