The Imitation Game (2014)
BBC Four, 9pm ★★★★
Director Morten Tyldum portrays the life and work of mathematician Alan Turing across three time-frames: his formative school years, his stint breaking codes at Bletchley Park, and post-war, during the persecution he would face until his death. Benedict Cumberbatch is a compelling Turing, but, disappointingly, the film omits much of the homophobic abuse that Turing suffered.
