Crufts winner jailed over dog attack

-

A Crufts-winning dog breeder has been jailed for failing to control her pet Belgian malinois which mauled a visitor.

Margaret Peacock, 70, told Salisbury Crown Court that Natasha Turner – whose lower leg was “significantly” injured, requiring surgery – had turned up at her door having already been attacked by a stray dog.

But she was found guilty of being in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control and injured Ms Turner.

The judge sentenced her to two years and six months in prison. He also banned Peacock from owning dogs and ordered that her two collies and another Belgian malinois – which is related to the German shepherd – be seized by police.
