This cult favourite is a twisted coming-of-age story from Hal Ashby. Harold (Bud Cort) is a wealthy young man obsessed with death whose unconscious courtship with a freespirited 79-year-old woman called Maude (Ruth Gordon) leads him to discover joy in living for the first time. If you’ve never seen this but loved Bill Nighy’s recent Oscar-nominated turn in Living, settle in for a similar treat.
