Ban for hunt after foxes were thrown to hounds
A hunt has been banned after its members were seen pulling foxes from dens and throwing them to hounds.
Members of the Avon Vale Hunt in Wiltshire, which dates from 1888, were filmed laughing and cheering as they removed the foxes from a den. In the video a fox bolts from the underground den before the hounds chase it as a man shouts: “There’s a brace.”
The hunting community called the footage “disgraceful”.
The Hounds Sports Regulatory Authority ruled last Friday that the Hunt be “permanently barred from membership of the British Hound Sports Association and from participation in hunting activities”.
