Sovereignty in NI

-

SIR – It is intolerable that part of the United Kingdom should continue to be subject to the laws of a foreign power and the rulings of a foreign court.

While some might see immediate advantage in agreeing to an apparently improved deal with the EU over Northern Ireland, a failure to resolve the issue of sovereignty once and for all will give rise to untold problems down the road.

SIR – Why is the prosperity of this great nation once again being held hostage by the whims of a minority party in Northern Ireland?

The DUP cannot be allowed to block political progress. The Prime Minister would do well to remind it, and the extremist Tory MPS supporting it, that if this deal fails then the ultimate outcome could be a united Ireland. David Harvey
