Smith in frame to start against France
Marcus Smith is in strong contention for a starting place in the England rugby side to face France in the Six Nations on March 11, despite Steve Borthwick’s decision to release the Harlequins fly-half back to his club,
The Telegraph understands. Smith has been replaced by George Ford in the squad for a three-day training camp but it is understood the 24-year-old has been challenged to seize the No 10 shirt with a strong display in Quins’ match against Exeter on Saturday.
