School reverses ban on skirts after pupil protest
A school that was forced to close after protests by students against a ban on skirts led to the police being called has reversed its uniform policy.
Officers attended the Warriner School in Banbury, Oxon, on Feb 25 to break up a “disturbance” after rules were announced banning skirts and introducing a gender-neutral PE kit.
Confirming the reversal, Dr Annabel Kay, the executive head teacher, apologised for “underestimating the strength of feeling on this issue”.
