End of Watch (2012)

David Ayer served up a corker with this police drama. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña play longtime best buddies and LAPD partners Brian and Mike, who are trusted with patrolling one of the city’s most dangerous neighbourhoods where gangs, drugs and guns lurk on every street corner. The film really gets its gas in its trunk when they run afoul of a Mexican cartel, leaving them in mortal danger.
