Diamonds Are Forever (1971)
ITV4, 9pm ★★★
Best remembered for Shirley Bassey’s syrupy theme song and the record $1.25million salary producers paid Sean Connery to return for his sixth and final Bond film, it’s not a copperbottomed classic, but is still good fun. In it, Bond is charged with infiltrating a diamond-smuggling ring and stopping Blofeld’s plans for nuclear supremacy. Its camp tone is a far cry from the surly Daniel Craig era.
