Father’s heartbreak ‘No scientific basis’

-

For Kieran Saxon, 47, from Swadlincote in the East Midlands, the impact of school closures on his two children was “heartbreaking” – and he is now furious that The Lockdown Files show there was “no scientific basis” for them.

He said that his daughter Megan, now 19, was left unprepared for starting her A-levels following the first lockdown in her first year of GCSES.

“She didn’t have the preparedness. Her music hobbies were all cancelled, she didn’t have the chance to say goodbye to any of her friends and all of the rites of passage, including the school prom, were cancelled; they got thrown to the wind,” he said.

“I’m so angry with the Government and the unions for pushing this. It was a colossal mistake – we cast aside basic human rights and compassion in the name of fear and political opportunism.”
