Glacial probate

sir – Trevor Taylor (Letters, February 25) has waited 23 weeks (so far) for his father’s “straightforward” probate to be granted.

As principal executor for a very elderly lady, I have been waiting since she died in mid-2018. My husband died in September 2020, and a similar delay looks likely. Both estates are what can kindly be called modest.
