Muslim worshipper, 82, set alight at mosque

An 82-year-old worshipper was left with severe burns after being doused in petrol and set alight outside a mosque.

The suspect, who had also attended a service, simply “walked away” from the scene as his victim burned.

The man was taken to hospital with severe burns to the back of his neck, back, ears and hand following the attack outside the West London Islamic Centre in Ealing, London. Congregants said the perpetrator was not a regular attendee.

A spokesman for the mosque said: “We don’t know his motive.”

Police are searching for the suspect.
