Sledgehammer victim is now ‘a shell of a person’
The children of a man beaten with a sledgehammer in a park say the attack left their father “a shell of a person”.
John Lowe, 58, is on life support after the assault on Feb 14 in Clarendon Park, Salford. Greater Manchester. Police have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder who was later released on bail.
Mr Lowe’s children said they could see their father “deteriorating right before our eyes”.
His daughter, Lily, told BBC North West Tonight that her father was “severely brain-damaged and has very little quality of life”.
She said the attack had “shocked us and the community”.
