AI doggerel

SIR – I asked the AI chatbot CHATGPT (report, March 11) to write me a small poem.

The theme was one-syllable words and it was to use only one-syllable words to produce the poem. The result was quite nice, but I could see that it included some polysyllables. I asked CHATGPT to read its own poem and to find all words of two or more syllables. It immediately listed eight such words. I did not have the heart to rub its nose in it, and politely took my leave.
