US activist fund hires ex-chairman of easyjet and BT
The former chairman of BT Group and easyjet has been recruited by activist fund Elliott Advisors.
Sir Mike Rake will join Elliott as a senior adviser, supporting its plans to expand its UK and European investment portfolios in private and public companies.
Investments made by Elliott Advisors, the London-based arm of US hedge fund Elliott Investment Management, include stakes in BHP, Glaxosmithkline, and Premier Inn-ower Whitbread.
“I have always admired Elliott’s track record and its commitment to constructive, engaged ownership in both the private and public markets,” said Sir Mike, who is also the former chairman of KPMG’S UK arm.
