Daily Mail owner names Collier as new chief executive

The Daily Mail owner has appointed a new chief executive to replace the great-grandson of the its founder.

Tim Collier was previously special adviser and non-executive director at Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT). He joined in 2017 as chief financial officer, a position he held until 2021.

Mr Collier takes over as chief executive from Lord Rothermere, who became chairman and chief executive of DMGT last September after his predecesso­r Paul Zwillenber­g stepped down after six years in the role.

Lord Rothermere will remain as executive chairman of DMGT, which also owns Metro and the i newspaper.

The pair will together set DMGT’S “strategic direction for renewed growth”, the company said.
