Clarkson’s farm hailed as sustainability beacon
Jeremy Clarkson’s Oxfordshire farm could be the “crown jewel” of local sustainability efforts, a meeting about his Diddly Squat shop heard.
The presenter’s planning application to extend the site’s car park has been refused by West Oxfordshire district council, prompting an appeal.
At a hearing, Henry Lawrence, a butcher and Diddly Squat supplier, said that the shop could be “the crown jewel” of sustainable farming and that his business has grown “dramatically”.
But Hilary Moore, the planning inspector, said the shop attracted “motorheads” who liked to show off their “souped-up” cars.
The hearing continues.
