Wagner group uses porn site to recruit troops for Kremlin

RUSSIA’S Wagner mercenary group has turned to a pornography website to help recruit potential fighters for the war in Ukraine.

The Pornhub advert for the private military company, which first came to light in a popular Russian Telegram channel covering the porn industry, shows a woman rolling a lollipop around in her mouth.

“We’re the most bad-ass private army in the world. We’re hiring in all regions of Russia,” a woman’s voice can be heard saying. “Don’t jerk off, go to work for PMC Wagner.”

The advert was reportedly visible to viewers accessing the site from several Russian regions but not Moscow, in line with the strategy guiding Russia’s partial military mobilisation last year, which targeted those in rural parts rather than in the major cities.

Businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, who founded Wagner, endorsed the advert yesterday. “Placing Wagner’s ads on porn websites is an excellent idea of our marketing specialists,” he said in a statement. “I fully agree with them and what the ad says… Who wouldn’t?”
