Jump jockey wants to meet Beyonce, enjoyed skiing with friends and loves being first to the top of Cheltenham hill

-

What is your most embarrassing moment?

There isn’t a standout one, thankfully. I don’t get embarrassed too easily – I usually just try to convince myself that what has just happened is absolutely fine… even though it’s probably not fine at all.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Don’t join a committee.

Who is the one person you would like to meet, dead or alive?

Beyonce would be a cool person to meet.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

We have to travel a lot in racing so I’d love to be able to “apparate” [teleport], like Harry Potter.

What is your worst habit?

I have many bad habits, but the first one that springs to mind is biting my nails.

What is your favourite childhood memory?

Probably being outside, playing with friends, with the dogs tagging along. Going riding on my pony and just enjoying life on a farm.

If you could switch lives with anyone in the world for a day, who would it be?

I would love to see orcas in the wild (Free Willy fan), so someone who observes them maybe.

What is your most prized possession?

To all the robbers out there, I don’t have any, there is nothing cool in my house.

What song gets you on the dance floor?

I could give you a strong list of the songs that don’t, they seem to crop up at weddings. But other than those, I would dance to most music.

What is your dream three-course meal?

There could be many combinations for this. I love food. Something along the lines of a goat’s cheese starter, main would be ordered from a menu that I didn’t fully understand. It would consist of a small portion of artistically presented food which on arrival I still wouldn’t be overly sure what I was eating, it would be accompanied by a side of potatoes. Dessert is chocolate fondant with an ample amount of vanilla ice cream.

Do you prefer a night in or a night out?

I want to say night out, but nights in are just a lot more appealing to me with my life at the moment.

What is the best concert you have been to?

Coldplay in Amsterdam.

What is the most ridiculous thing you have ever bought?

I once started a mini company with a friend in secondary school where we were going to sell personalised key rings. I still have 500 clear key rings sitting in a box at home if anyone wants them …

everyone actual proof of what we had done to the planet.

What has been your favourite holiday?

Like most people, I love going on holidays and luckily have been on some brilliant ones. Skiing in France with six friends when I was

20 is definitely up there with one of the best ones, as well as a safari I did in Africa back in 2020.

When and where were you happiest?

At the top of the hill at Cheltenham, when you are the first one to get there – it’s an amazing place and it’s just a feeling that’s hard to put into words.

What is the best book you have ever read? And what is your favourite TV show?

I loved Harry Potter as a kid, and listened to all the audiobooks. Prison Break season one is a brilliant show.

?? ?? If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or go to the future?
I would take my chances and go to the future, only if I could then use the same machine to travel back to the present and share with
