Live sport means more to people than their job

-

A study reveals that attending live sporting events gives people more meaning in their lives than their careers.

Data gathered from more than 7,000 Britons by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and analysed by Anglia Ruskin University found that going to a stadium and soaking in the atmosphere with like-minded fans boosted one’s sense of life satisfaction. The study also revealed that live sport was a factor in how one rated their “life being worthwhile”. It was also linked to lower levels of loneliness.

The study is published in the journal Frontiers in Public Health.
