WH Smith plans 30 more Toys R Us sites within its stores
WH Smith is to open 30 more Toys R Us concessions at its stores as the retailer accelerates the revival of the toy brand that went bust six years ago.
The newsagent and stationery group, which has opened nine Toys R Us shop-in-shops as part of its retail partnership with the brand, said it would open a further 30 by the end of August.
Three of the concessions – in Hereford, Leamington Spa and Leicester – will open on May 25.
WH Smith opened the first concessions last year as the toy chain returned following its collapse.
Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy in 2018, shutting the doors on all of its 100 UK shops with the loss of more than 2,000 jobs.
