BUCKINGHAM PALACE

May 13th

The King, Colonel-in-chief, Army Air Corps, this morning visited the Army Aviation Centre, Middle Wallop, Stockbridg­e, Hants, upon His Majesty retiring as Colonel-inchief, and was received by the Colonel Commandant (Lieutenant General Sir Nicholas Borton).

The King was received with a Royal Salute.

His Majesty, escorted by the Colonel Commandant, Colonel Edward Butterwort­h (Corps Colonel) and Warrant Officer Class One Philip Docherty (Corps Sergeant Major), visited the Army Flying Museum and met representa­tives of the Corps, veterans, families and members of museum staff.

The King proceeded on foot across the airfield to the Control Tower and met serving members of aircrew.

The Prince of Wales was present upon His Royal Highness’s appointmen­t as Colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-inchief, this afternoon visited the Army Air Corps at the Army Aviation Centre, Middle Wallop, Stockbridg­e, Hampshire.

ST JAMES’S PALACE

May 13th

The Duke of Edinburgh, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning and this afternoon held Receptions for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award at Buckingham Palace.

The Bands of the British Army Tidworth and The Royal Yeomanry (Inns of Court and City Yeomanry) played selections of music during the day.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon gave a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

ST JAMES’S PALACE

May 13th

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Stonehaven Open Air Swimming Pool, Beach Road, Cowie, Stonehaven, to mark its Ninetieth Anniversar­y and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Kincardine­shire (Mr Alastair Macphie).

Her Royal Highness, Admiral of the Sea Cadet Corps, Marine Society and Sea Cadets, later opened Stonehaven and District New Headquarte­rs, 1 Marischal Street, Stonehaven.
