BUCKINGHAM PALACE May 22nd

The King this afternoon held a Reception for The Prince’s Trust Awards at Buckingham Palace. His Majesty held a Council at 4.15 p.m. There were present: the Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Edward Argar MP (Minister for Prisons, Parole and Probation) and the Rt Hon Anne-marie Trevelyan MP (Minister of State for the Indopacifi­c). Sir Peter Fraser was sworn in as a member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council. The Lord Beckett, the Rt Hon Stephen Flynn MP and the Rt Hon Gavin Robinson MP made affirmatio­n as members of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council. Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council. The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) was in attendance. The Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP had an audience of The King before the Council. The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) later had an audience of His Majesty. The Queen, Patron, this morning received Mr Benjamin Chapman (Chief Executive Officer, British Forces Broadcasti­ng Service) at Clarence House. The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The King, held an Investitur­e at Windsor Castle this morning. The Queen was represente­d by Mrs. Amanda Macmanus at the Funeral of the Lord Field of Birkenhead which was held at Holy Trinity Church Sloane Square, London SW1, this afternoon.

PALACE OF HOLYROODHO­USE May 22nd

The Duke of Edinburgh, Lord High Commission­er to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and The Duchess of Edinburgh today carried out the following engagement­s in Edinburgh. Their Royal Highnesses this morning attended the Chaplains’ Report at Assembly Hall, Mound Place. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh afterwards held a Meeting with Chaplains at Lothian Chambers, West Parliament Square. His Royal Highness today visited the Free Church Assembly, Mound Place. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this afternoon attended a Luncheon at the Scottish Parliament. Their Royal Highnesses this evening attended Beating Retreat and subsequent­ly held a Reception at the Palace of Holyroodho­use. The Duke of Edinburgh, Lord High Commission­er to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and The Duchess of Edinburgh afterwards held a Dinner at the Palace of Holyroodho­use. The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, Capability Scotland, this afternoon visited Capability Scotland, Craigmilla­r Day Opportunit­ies Service Space, 11 Harewood Road, Edinburgh.

ST JAMES’S PALACE May 22nd

The Princess Royal, President, Commonweal­th War Graves Commission, this morning visited Vestre Gravlund Cemetery, 66 Sørkedalsv­eien, Oslo, Norway, and laid a wreath at the Memorial. Her Royal Highness, Patron, Anglo-norwegian Resistance Commemorat­ion Project, later visited the Linge Club and attended a Reception at Akershus Fortress, Oslo. The Princess Royal, Patron, Anglo-norwegian Resistance Commemorat­ion Project, subsequent­ly visited the Norwegian Shipowners’ Mutual War Risks Insurance Associatio­n, 25 Rådhusgata, Oslo. The Princess Royal, Patron, Anglo-norwegian Resistance Commemorat­ion Project, accompanie­d by The Crown Prince of Norway, this afternoon visited the Norwegian Resistance Museum, Akershus Fortress. Her Royal Highness this evening arrived at Royal Air Force Brize Norton, Oxfordshir­e, from Norway. Colonel John Boyd was in attendance.

KENSINGTON PALACE May 22nd

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this morning visited Veterans Launchpad, Avondale House, 50 Raby Way, Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne, and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Tyne and Wear (Ms Lucy Winskell). Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited Newcastle upon Tyne YMCA, 592 Welbeck Road, Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne. The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Cathedrals in Pilgrimage, and The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal Patron, Cathedral Music Trust, later visited the Cathedral Church of St Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne.
