CATHEDRAL CELEBRATES LIGHT

Hope is the theme of a new exhibition titled Dispersing the

Night at Salisbury Cathedral until 23 July. On show are works by Brazilian sculptor Ana Maria Pacheco, including Study of head (John the Baptist III) and Shadows of the Wanderer (above). “Light and shadow, the stock in trade of all sculpture and Pacheco’s emphasis in this exhibition, are central to the task of Christian faith,” said Dr Robert Titley, the cathedral’s canon treasurer.
